    • DIST - The Interuniversity Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning
  • Abstract:
    • The safeguard and the environmental sustainability are common topics because very often frequent cases of environmental disasters (such as environmental pollution and hydrogeological risk) occur. In this context, the goal is to develop sensors’ networks that enable a careful and accurate environmental monitoring, focusing the attention on air quality as well as the control of geo-hazard events (such as subsidence, landslides and deformations). The data acquired through the appropriate sensor networks will be shared through the public Smart Data Platform according to the open-access policy. Internet of Environmental Monitoring Data - IDEM - is a project of Industrial Research and Experimental Development, which is based on the sharing of data generated by Internet-connected systems and their integration into the logic of Open Data.
